TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stressed Sunday the security in Persian Gulf cannot come true unilaterally and only through mere security cooperation.

Salehi sent his message for the ceremony held on April 29 to mark the National Persian Gulf Day, an important day for Iranian which is celebrated with various ceremonies all over Iran, especially in the Persian Gulf coastal cities.

He noted a program which includes a wide and all-out concept of security, economic, trade, cultural and social cooperation leads to establishment of security in the waterway.

Salehi stressed the importance of Persian Gulf, saying the region possesses high value regarding the geopolitical, geostrategic as well as geo-economic aspects and possesses a particular priority for Iran.

Also in a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian, Salehi called the Istanbul talks “successful." He expressed hope that the meeting in Baghdad would be even more fruitful.

Salehi stressed, "While we took one step forward in Istanbul, God willing we will take several steps in the Baghdad meeting."

Iran and the P5+1 wrapped up the latest round of their negotiations on April 14 in Istanbul where both sides called the talks constructive.

The next round of the talks will be held on May 23 in Baghdad.
