Sanctions neither in favor of Iran, nor EU: Italian envoy

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Sanctions are neither in favor of Iran and nor the European Union, said Italian ambassador to Iran Alberto Bradanin. In an interview with ISNA, he referred to imposition of unilateral sanctions against Iran by the European Union and said that ruling conditions in Italy is quite difficult comparing to any other European country. He expressed hope talks between Iran and the five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany would lead to fruitful results. Regarding the process of talks between Iran and 5+1 Group, he said, "Although they have a long way, I hope talks can lead to fruitful results and the two sides can reach compromise." Also regarding Iran-Italy ties, he said, "The relations are in good level, but we hope ties would be boosted with good results from negotiations between Iran and 5+1." Also regarding imposition of unilateral sanctions against Iran by the EU on crude export, he said, "The sanctions are neither in favor of Iran and nor the EU, since crude price has increased due to sanctions and it is not in favor of the EU and particularly Italy. "The ruling conditions in Italy is quite difficult comparing to any other European country since Italy used to receive Iran's oil, but it cannot buy Iranian crude after sanctions. We hope final results could be achieved in talks between Iran and 5+1 so that the two sides can continue cooperation in advanced level." End Item
