» سرویس: Politics - ForeignPolicy

TEHRAN (ISNA)-The Head of Iran-Brazil Friendship Association Mir-Qassem Mo’meni said the aim of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Brazil was not meeting with the officials of the country.

Mo’meni told ISNA that Ahmadinejad's visit to Brazil was merely seeking participation in Rio+20 Summit, but not meeting with the officials in the country.

The Rio+20 sustainable development conference was held on June 20-22 in Brazil as a 20-year follow-up to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.

Iranian official referred to reactions of the visit, saying Rio+20 Summit is one of the UN important rotating meetings which was held in Brazil this year, adding the UN hosted the meeting and Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon headed the conference.

He continued Ahmadinejad held meeting with the heads of states of some other countries during the meeting, adding Iran's President met with Brazilian officials during his two-day trip.

He also rejected all claims about the President's visit to Brazil.
