Iran invites Ashton's representative for talks for 2nd time

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri sent the second letter to a representative for EU Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid since the other side had not expressed readiness for holding talks before Moscow meeting. Bagheri has sent two letters to Schmid calling for talks and stressing the necessity of holding dialogue at the level of experts before Moscow meeting. It is agreed that P5+1 and Islamic Republic of Iran continue nuclear talk on June 18-19 in Moscow after Istanbul and Baghdad dialogues. Bagheri has sent the first letter five days after Baghdad talk and expressed Iran's readiness to hold talks at the level of experts, adding Moscow meeting would be successful if a comprehensive and agreed agenda is codified and required preparations are done. Iran's senior official sent the second letter after the other side did not express readiness for holding such talks .The copy of the letter has been sent to the 6 countries' representatives. Also according to Associated Press the spokesman for the EU Maya Kochiyanchich said Tuesday that EU has responded to Bagheri's letter. "Interaction on the content is important not the process of talks," Maya Kochiyanchich was quoted as saying. Based on the report, Kochiyanchich also said Ashton would hold dialogues with Iranian side directly on the issue. Iranian Supreme National Security Council Deputy Secretary for Media Affairs announced during Baghdad negotiation the two sides agreed to meet again at the level of experts and deputies again to prepare the agenda for Moscow talks. It was scheduled that Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri and EU Foreign Policy Chief's representative Helga Schmid prepare the grounds in this regard. Bagheri sent a letter to the other party and expressed Iran's readiness to hold meeting at the level of experts. Iranian Supreme National Security Council Deputy Secretary for Media Affairs has confirmed receiving a letter from Helga Schmid, saying it was not a response to Bagheri's letter,but a letter against the agreements made during Baghdad talk and only includes some general subjects.It is not about holding any meeting before Moscow talks.
