Iran invites Iraqi Parliament Speaker for official visit

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iraqi Parliament Speaker was invited for an official visit to Iran.

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi and the Head of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi discussed ways for expansion of bilateral ties as they met in Baghdad.

Boroujerdi appreciated al-Nujaifi over playing a role in boosting Iran-Iraq ties through formation of joint friend committee. He also congratulated Iraq over hosting Arab summit successfully.

Al-Nujaifi on his part stressed further cooperation on formation of an organization for security, economic and politic relation and said Iraq is facing government formation challenge which needs national effort and support of friendly countries.

Boroujerdi along with an Iranian parliamentary delegation has left for Iraq a couple of days ago.
