Annan in Iran for talks with officials

TEHRAN (ISAN)-The UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan is in Tehran for talks with high-profile Iranian officials.

He was officially welcomed by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Arab countries Hossein Amir-Abdollahian upon his arrival.

Annan is scheduled to discuss Syrian issue with Iranian officials during his two-day trip.

His travel follows Iran's readiness to use its ultimate potentials and political capability in regional and international scene for constructive cooperation and consultation with all sides to bring an end to Syrian crisis soon, creating stability and peace in the region and the world and helping vindication of legitimate and peaceful demands of Syrian nation without foreign interference and with respect for Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Annan is scheduled to hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi Wednesday.
