Iran's Kia-Rostami to attend Dubai int'l fest

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran's Abbas Kia-Rostami is going to join Dubai International Film Festival.

Kia-Rostami who held a film-making training course for Persian Gulf countries' directors in 2011, is to take part in the 5th edition of the cultural event and evaluate performance of the artists.

He is to watch 37 films from young filmmakers to whom he taught the basic principles of film-making from the Iranian director last year. Kia-Rostami has won Gold Palm Award in Cannes International Film Festival in 2011.

The filmmakers were from the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Germany and Denmark.

The festival runs on April 10-16 and screens films with the theme of loneliness as proposed by Kia-Rostami.

The Iranian director's newest production "Like Someone in Love" is being produced in Japan which stars some Japanese artists.

"Like Someone in Love", the second project made abroad after the "Certified Copy" tells the story of a middle-aged well-educated man who falls in love with a student girl.

"The Certified Copy" won the Best Actress Award in Cannes International Film festival for Juliette Binoche.
